With the intent of resolving disputes and controversies looming over the antibiotic-resistant superbug, Mr. AK Walia, the Health Minister of Delhi, India, will reportedly chair a conference on Friday. The congregation will witness various concerned stakeholders, and the entire agenda of discussion will be focussed on issues allied to the reported and much-talked-about pervasiveness of antibiotic opposing superbug prevailing in New Delhi. "We will hold a meeting on Friday and all the stakeholders will be present in the meeting. Though we have not received any report, we will take this matter seriously", revealed the Health Minister. It is noteworthy that the decision over the suspicious superbug has followed a recent study conducted by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, wherein experts revealed that the superbug situation is pressurizing the city and there is need for some strict and stern measures to be adopted at earliest. In this regard, recent data released by a British medical journal has claimed that the existence of a bacterium along with multifaceted multi-drug opposing gene, dubbed “New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase-1 (or simply NDM-1)” which is immensely competent against a wide assortment of antibiotics, can really threaten the city as well as the entire nation due to its strict progressive nature. The journal further claimed that the said superbug “NDM-1” was found in the water being used for drinking, washing and other daily household purposes in New Delhi.
