According to information given by the Financial Times reporters, the Microsoft officials declared that they are all set to grab the biggest deal for their company. However, the deal is certainly related to their plans of winning the EU’s endorsement for its designed $8.5 billion (5.9 billion euro) acquirement of online telephone service Skype. Meanwhile, the reported information further accounted that the EU competition Commissioner, Joaquin Almunia, will the chief person to approve the planned deal documents. Besides all these details, the paper also reported that it was not easy for the Microsoft officials to grab the deal because previously many controversies got attached to it but despite of all the criticism from the possible competitors, who are trying to hunk any anti-competitive Microsoft's Windows software packaging with the Internet phone service, the Company is confident of winning the planned deal. In addition to all these controversies, recently the criticism also desired that the European rivalry authorities too need Microsoft to unlock Skype’s internet phone network to the other opponent’s services. On the other hand, while sharing his views about the golden deal, an antitrust lawyer at Ashurts in Brussels, Denis Waelbroeck accounted, “I think that in the end, the officials will reach their own independent decision. This doesn’t mean the complaint will be upheld”.
