Useful and Free Android Apps for Our Everyday Lives

Life is stressful. Most of us are so overbooked that we often forget tasks or appointments, or the quality of our work is not up to par. We have a constant desire to be organized and have every task list and appointment book with us at all times. But instead of paying for expensive leather-bound portfolios to hold all our items, we now have smartphones.

Some people don’t realize the breadth of the smartphone’s capabilities, especially when it comes to getting their lives in order. Here are some useful and free Android smartphone apps to keep you organized and sane.
1. Reverse Lookup (app by esMobile)
This reverse phone lookup app is intended to help you figure out who is calling you from unknown numbers. Sometimes telemarketers and other solicitation companies can get a hold of your information, and soon you’ll be receiving harassing phone calls at all hours of the day. This app not only tracks the caller information, it also allows you to block that number, map the location, and more.
2. Out of Milk (app by Capigami)

This multifaceted app allows you to maintain multiple grocery lists, keep a pantry list of items you already have, and keep a running task list as well. You can either add items manually, or use the integrated barcode scanner to add the food item directly to your list.
When shopping, you can also use the barcode scanner to mark items off your list and keep a running total of your shopping costs.
3. TripIt (app by TripIt, Inc.)
For those of us who travel a lot, we could use one place where we can put all of our travel information so it can be at hand at all times. TripIt will organize your travel itinerary into an easy-to use format. It even has a Business version that can sync the same itinerary to the phones of all the different people traveling on the same trip. As an added bonus, Google Mail users can sync up their confirmation emails with TripIt, making it even easier to coordinate information.
4. Bump
This simple app can make such a difference when sharing items between mobile devices. To swap or deliver photos, contact information, or other files, simply open the Bump app on two phones. Then simply bump the phones together (gently) and the information will transfer. It saves so much time in emailing or texting items to other people.
5. My Cars (app by Davaq)
Regular car maintenance can be a hassle to remember. After how many miles should I get my oil changed? What needs to be replaced every ten thousand miles? What is the gas mileage on my car? With My Cars you can keep track of this information. Just record every time you go to the pump, and get your oil changed to get stats on your car’s performance. It will also let you manage multiple cars.
So if you want to make your life stress-free, check out these and the hundreds of other free and useful apps on the Android market
