Google has released an updated version of Chrome, and in the process fixed 27 security bugs affecting the popular Web browser.
In rolling out Chrome 11 yesterday (April 27), Google tackled 18 security bugs ranked "high," including several that allowed attackers to crash a user's system or potentially spread malicious files by spoofing the contents of the browser's address bar, Google explained in a blog.
Chrome 11 for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux can be downloaded at Google's website.
In accordance with its policy of paying researchers who discover and report flaws, Google said it paid "a record $16,500 of rewards with this patch."
Chrome 11, in addition to being more secure than the previous version, includes speech input through HTML, a new speech-to-Tex feature that translates your spoken voice into other languages.
