I use the EXIF date taken property of photos to arrange them by timeline. On this manner, I can easily search photos on the same event but because of my busy schedules, sometimes I fail to arrange them as soon as I transfered them from my camera resulting to a huge amount unorganized photos. Manually moving these photos by date into multiple folders turns a simple task into tedious job. A tool called PhotoMove is a saviour to make such things relatively easy again. PhotoMove is a free application for Windows that automatically move and sort photos to directories based on the actual date the photo was taken. Once installed, just specify the source and destination directories, click Find Photos to retrieve the photos Exif infos, and click either Copy Image files or Move Image files to perform the respective operation.

After the process is completed, you can verify the result by browsing the destination folder. You should see new set of folders with name of dates. This app should works on all Windows version. I tested it under Windows 7 x86 version.
